Fannie Mae Expects Economic Growth to be at 2.4% For Second Half of Year

Today’s News Synopsis:

The Labor Department released their latest consumer-price index report showing consumer prices increased 0.3% last month, the most in five months.  The NAHB reported strong builder confidence this month, having decreased by only two points and standing at 63.  Fannie Mae released this month’s Economic and Housing Outlook, showing they expect economic growth to be at 2.4% average in the second half of the year.

“Economic growth is expected to average 2.4 percent in the second half of the year, up from 1.1 percent in the first half but at a slightly slower pace than predicted in the prior forecast, according to Fannie Mae’s (FNMA/OTC) Economic & Strategic Research (ESR) Group’s October 2016 Economic and Housing Outlook.”

“ATTOM Data Solutions, the nation’s leading source for comprehensive housing data and the new parent company of RealtyTrac, today released an analysis showing homes owned by men had a higher foreclosure rate on average than homes owned by women as of the end of Q3 2016.”

NAHB – “Builder Confidence Remains Solid in October” (10-18-16)

“Builder confidence in the market for newly constructed single-family homes remained on firm ground in October, down two points to a level of 63 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).”
