Today’s News Synopsis:

Aaron Norris of the Norris Group gives this week’s Norris Group real estate headline roundup commemorating the 500th episode of the Norris Group radio show.  A new list of cities with the best and weakest growth in the job market in the U.S.  Chicago just saw growth in their real estate market with the increase in prices and the addition of new structures.  Investing in housing near colleges for students living off campus is a good way to invest in real estate.

The Mortgage Bankers Association reported a 3.6% increase in mortgage applications from the previous week.  New employees qualified for originators were becoming harder and harder to find as more and more boomers were retiring.  New details on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s goals regarding single and multifamily housing had just been released by the FHFA.
