According to the latest Home Purchase Sentiment Index released by Fannie Mae, more consumers are not as confident about the future and less willing to take risks. The Federal Reserve reported borrowing by consumers increased by 8.5%, or $25.9 billion, its highest in a year. Zillow released their latest report showing which cities are seeing the highest rent increases.

The Mortgage Bankers Association reported a 25.5% increase in mortgage applications from the previous week. Borrowing by consumers also increased in August, although the pace at which it grew was at its slowest in six months. The CFPB was considering new rules to keep customers and consumer financial companies accountable.
